Black Cenred continues to be selective with the truth as the Heroes travel to an overgrown fenland in search of 'a Power'. Ceri dances across the reed beds, Gwylog sacrifices to the Old Gods - and gets more then he had expected, Branwen soothes a savage beast, and then Cenred precipitates its death. Then, Branwen suppresses her annoyance, Gwylog reserves his Gift so Cenred binds up his own wounds, but Ceri offers him a gift of her own ...
