Captain's Log - Stardate 48011.9 - Commander Prel reporting: We're two months out from Mars and the crew are proving satisfactory while the Montgomery's systems are nominal.
We will arrive at Farius VIII-B later today and I hope to be on our way again within 24 hours. We're carrying a consignment of equipment to a dilithium mining operation with which the Federation has signed a supply contract. Our cargo is the first instalment of Starfleet's payment and will increase production while improving safety. In return we'll collect much needed dilithium for the ships patrolling the Cardassian DMZ, along with the Federation trade envoy who negotiated the agreement.
The system sits just outside Federation space and Farius Prime is under the control of the Orion Syndicate. However, reports suggest they are content to focus on vice and trade. Our destination is the airless second moon of Farius VIII, a Jovian out on the fringe of the system; far enough from the Orions that I don't expect any trouble from them.
Then, there's a breached dome, a surprise for one of the crew, and Pakleds ... phasers are set to stun (or not) and miners to rescue ... before the Pakleds head towards Farius Prime with a hold full of stolen dilithium ...
