Before embarking on an expedition to The Crux of Hyperion, the Ironsworn have an opportunity and a request presented to them; the former, involving a mysterious black box, rates an Iron Vow to The Jackals.
The first waypoint offers them a derelict ship on a vegetative mat floating in the upper atmosphere of a Jovian planet, but the second includes an ice-miner in trouble. Relic does the right thing but someone (or something?) catches up with him; Raven goes to help; and Cinderwing pulls off some fancy flying to rescue the miner. Then ... mayhem in the hold, Relic recovers, and the remote murder of the miner ...
